Shelby Daniele has made a remarkable name for herself in the world of track and field, hailing from Clovis, California. With a strong background in sprinting, Shelby has consistently shattered records and earned accolades both on and off the track. During her time at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), Shelby showcased her exceptional talent in indoor and outdoor events.

At the Don Kirby Elite Invitational, she broke the school record in the indoor 200-meter dash with a time of 24.69 seconds. In addition, she achieved a personal best of 7.62 seconds in the 60-meter dash, marking the second fastest time in Cal Poly’s history. These achievements were just the beginning of her stellar career. In outdoor competitions, Shelby continued to excel.

At the Big West Championships, she claimed second place in the 200 meters with a time of 23.73 seconds, earning All-Big West honors for the second consecutive year. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in the women’s 4×100 relay team, helping them secure second place at the conference meet with a season-best time of 45.39 seconds. Her determination was further evident as she finished fifth in the 100 meters at the same championship.

Shelby’s impressive performance at the Fresno State Invitational saw her achieving personal bests in both the 100 meters (11.58 seconds) and 200 meters (23.57 seconds). These times placed her among the elite in school history, with her 100-meter time tied for the second fastest and her 200-meter time elevating her to No. 3 on Cal Poly’s all-time list. Over the season, she dominated the 200 meters, winning first place at three different meets.

Academically, Shelby has balanced her athletic endeavors with a commitment to her studies, earning Big West All-Academic honors and recognition from College Sports Communicators as an Academic All-District athlete. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture in spring 2023. Before her collegiate success, Shelby was a standout at Buchanan High School, where she won the CIF State Championship in the 200 meters in 2019, posting a time of 23.73 seconds.

Her high school career also included impressive performances in the 100 meters and contributions to her school’s successful 4×100 relay team.
