Nehemiah Schoenecke, 2 years old, of Heyworth, and beloved son, brother, and grandson passed away tragically Friday September 20, 2024, in Bloomington, Illinois. He was announced dead in a post that read “It is still absolutely heartbreaking but your prayers are being heard. Bryan and Samantha said that they literally feel they are being carried by all the prayers and the amazing outpouring of support. God is so good, even in the storms! Thank you for your continued prayers as we Celebrate this weekend all 871 days that Nehemiah lived on earth.”
Who was Nehemiah Schoenecke?
On May 3, 2022, in Normal, Illinois, Nehemiah Joel Schoenecke was born to Bryan and Samantha (Ketchum) Schoenecke, who are still alive. Along with his brother Isaac, he also leaves behind two sisters, Eliana and Liberty. It brought joy to all those who knew Nehemiah. At birth, he weighed 10 pounds, 2 ounces, and remained a big, muscular boy. In addition to being large and strong, he had a really soft and kind heart.
With his little “bonus” brother Ryker, he was very kind and considerate, always bringing him toys and petting his head. He was quite laid back, constantly grinning and laughing. Nehemiah cherished his kin! He particularly enjoyed seeing all the fire vehicles when he visited his father at the fire station. He enjoyed cuddling up with his mother and reading books, especially the ones featuring vehicles, trucks, and tractors that were his favourite.
Playing with his siblings and participating in their activities was Nehemiah’s favourite thing to do. He really enjoyed it when they would pull him in their waggon, give him piggyback rides, or let him bounce on the trampoline. He enjoyed taking long walks, building in the sandbox, splashing in our creek, and pointing out every bird, butterfly, and deer. Nehemiah was incredibly adored.
Nehemiah Schoenecke obituary and funeral service
There will be a funeral for Nehemiah at 1 PM Saturday September 28, 2024, at Eastview Christian Church in Normal. There will be a visitation from 3-7 PM Friday September 27, 2024, at the church. Pastor Hal Hamilton and Pastor Clark Killingsworth will officiate. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery near Heyworth.
