James MacPherson, a resident of Manchester, Connecticut, and a beloved brother and son has tragically passed away. He died on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024. Police say a rollover collision on Tuesday on Interstate 91 South claimed the life of a man from Manchester. James Dennis MacPherson, according to Connecticut State Police, lost his life in an accident at 1:18 p.m. on I-91 close to Exit 40.
According to the police, MacPherson was travelling in the right lane when, for an unexplained reason, he swerved into the grassy area beyond the right shoulder and subsequently into the right shoulder. Then, according to them, he turned back into the right lane, ran over a Toyota Tacoma, and went back into the grassy area. According to the cops, the F150 started to roll over and eventually came to an uncontrolled halt in the highway’s right shoulder.
At first, police said that the crash victims’ injuries were minimal. On the other hand, they reported that later in the evening, MacPherson was taken to Hartford Hospital with apparent life-threatening injuries, where he was declared deceased. According to the police, the Tacoma’s driver was unharmed and was able to leave the scene, but the passenger in MacPherson’s car only had minor wounds.
According to them, troopers should be contacted by any witnesses or those who have dash camera footage since the collision is still being investigated. A lane on I-91 south was reported as closed by the Connecticut Department of Transportation for several hours, however it was eventually opened.
