Amiel Maerling, a resident of of Greenfield Park, New York, and a beloved son and brother has tragically passed away. He was 32 years old at the time of his death. He was recognised as the individual who perished on State Route 17 in Goshen on Wednesday night in a terrible collision. Around 10:05 p.m., according to the authorities, Orange County 911 reported a car seen going east in the westbound lanes of State Route 17.

Maerling was purportedly driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck that was travelling east from Sullivan County. Between Exits 119 and 118, the wrong-way vehicle passed a member of the Middletown City Police, who attempted to stop it by making a U-turn. After a short while, the Ford passed a State Trooper between exits 120 and 119, and the trooper chased the car to bring it to a stop by turning back.

Maerling kept travelling eastward at a fast pace and struck a 2020 International tractor-trailer head-on near Exit 122. After both automobiles caught fire, Maerling was declared dead at the site. According to authorities, the tractor-trailer’s driver suffered severe injuries and was sent to Garnet Medical Centre. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Wallkill Town Police, and Middletown Police all participated in the pursuit of the vehicle who was travelling the wrong way. The event is still being looked into.
