Dan Gamache Lynnfield MA Death, Walpole High & Stonehill College former football player has died

Dan Gamache, a resident of Lynnfield, Massachusetts, and a Walpole High School and Stonehill College former football player has reportedly passed away. The circumstances surrounding Dan Gamache cause of death were not made public by the family at a later date. At the time of this publication, no official statement has been released by the family confirming his sudden death.

Who was Dan Gamache?

On the football pitch at Easton’s Stonehill College, Dan Gamache undoubtedly made an impression. He still holds the program record of 34 sacks from his 1995 graduation, which included 14 as a senior. The native of Walpole was admitted into the college’s sports hall of fame. Gamache, his wife Laura, and their two kids, Ava and Amber, reside in Lynnfield. Gamache attended Walpole High and played for the late great John Lee.

He had a part in special teams as a junior in 1989, the year the Rebels defeated Brockton 6-2 to win the Division 2 Super Bowl. He started as defensive end as a senior for a team that made it back to the Super Bowl but lost to Winchester. Gamache still follows high school sports, although he was active in real estate north of Boston. Brian, Lee’s son, and Matt Wassel, one of his high school friends, are now co-coaches at King Philip Regional High in Wrentham.

Wassel is the defensive coordinator for Lee, the head coach. The Worcester Polytechnic Institute Hall of Fame inducted Wassel in 2011 in recognition of his achievements both on the football pitch and the wrestling mat. Gamache’s straightforward words of wisdom to others were to never give up. It wasn’t until his senior year that he saw consistent playing time at Walpole High, but it was all worth it when he was given a starting position for one of the state’s most successful teams.

Dan Gamache obituary and funeral arrangements will be released by the family at a later date.
