They were confirmed dead by Spencer Fire Department in a statement that read “Please keep the family of former Captain Kyle Root in your thoughts and prayers. Last night he unexpectedly lost his wife Emily, and two young daughters Amailia and Shiloh in a tragic traffic accident in Michigan. We are deeply saddened to hear of his unimaginable loss and pray for comfort and healing.”

Emily also works part-time as a Bartender and Beverage Specialist at Notos Old World Italian Restaurant, showcasing her skills and passion for creating memorable experiences. For nearly a decade, Emily has embraced the role of a stay-at-home parent, pouring her heart into nurturing her daughters and managing the family. She humorously claims the title of “mother superior,” reflecting her unwavering dedication to family life, even as she juggles various job responsibilities.

Throughout her career, whether at Olive Garden or Culver’s, Emily has built a reputation for being a hardworking, multi-talented individual who truly “does it all.” With strong family ties, including her siblings, Zach and Ashley, and her father, Ron, Emily remains deeply connected to her roots in Grand Rapids while making lasting memories with her loved ones.
